The Haitian American Association of Alabama (HAAOA) is a not-for-profit organization created with the goal of showcasing the Haitian Culture and strengthening relationships between Haitians and Americans. Founded in June 2018, the organization seeks to support health and education in impoverished communities, enhance the university experience for Haitian collegians, and reinforce Haitian American collaboration through mission trips whenever possible. The organization also intends to work as a facilitator to promote exchange programs between Haitian and American students when the opportunity arises.

This year, our annual gala will take place at the Embassy Suites in Hoover. The theme of this 3rd event is “Legacy Celebration” where our famous Haitian Konpa Dance will be showcased. The funds collected will be used to support two organizations involved in girl empowerment, and that also provide a safe alternative to young girls and young boys in underserved communities. Thanks to your generosity, the 2025 Gala was a success that attendees are still recalling as being a memorable event. With the funds collected we were able to support “Kore Chadonye” with their goal of building a healthcare unit in an impoverished community in the Southside of Haiti.
