Heather West

Heather A. West is Assistant Professor of French at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where she teaches various levels of French classes and directs the Critical Languages Program. Dr. West has been named Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes académiques by the French government and directs the Grand Concours in the state of Alabama for the American Association of Teachers of French. She also serves as a secretary for the National Association of Self-Instructional Language Programs.

Her areas of research include the contemporary literature, film, and culture of Quebec as well as literature in English, French and Spanish from the Caribbean including the Haitian diaspora.
